Developmental Therapy

Bridging the Gap Rehab Services has been dedicated to treating the developmental needs of children for over 15 years. We provide trusted, compassionate care to families enrolled in the Early Intervention Program (children ages birth to 3 years old).

Our highly-trained team of developmental therapists hold degrees from accredited educational programs and are certified by the Illinois Early Education Program.

Developmental therapists at Bridging the Gap Rehab Services focus on the biological and environmental factors that can influence a child's progress to grow and learn, especially during the formative years of birth to 3 years old.

We evaluate and assess globally in seven areas of development:

• Fine motor
• Gross motor
• Cognitive
• Receptive language
• Expressive language
• Self-help skills
• Social-emotional skills

Our developmental therapists will communicate regularly with the child's other care partners such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition therapy and other medical professionals to help the child progress to their best potential. We are mindful of the social, economic, cultural and nutritional aspects of the child's environment and take it in consideration when creating the best treatment plan for the child.
